We're creating a community where families, caregivers, self-advocates, and individuals can find support, resources, encouragement, and meaningful connections while navigating life's challenges together.

Today, that starts with conversations, shared experiences, and helping one another take the next step forward.

Tomorrow, our vision is even bigger.

We believe strong communities are built through relationships, support systems, and access to opportunity.

Our long-term goal is to help create sustainable village-style communities where families can find affordable housing, build lasting connections, support one another, and create stability for future generations.

By combining community-building with future real estate development, we hope to one day make it possible for families to build not just homes, but a true village.

The Village Book Project

Building Literacy, Community, and Opportunity One Book at a Time

The Village Project is a community-driven initiative of Next Step Village focused on increasing access to books, promoting literacy, and creating meaningful opportunities for children and families throughout Mid-Missouri.

We believe reading is one of the most powerful tools for building confidence, independence, education, and long-term stability. Unfortunately, many families face barriers to accessing books, educational resources, and literacy programs.

Our goal is simple:

Put more books into the hands of more children and families.
